Custom Router Table

Outfeed/Assembly Table

Solid oak desk, designed around the mid century style of the desks used in the Air Ministry during the 1930s & 40s

The clients wanted a classic look, utlising tapered legs, paired with a continuous grain front apron & drawer fronts

Traditional joinery was used for visible parts, including solid oak drawers with rebate & groove joinery, but the legs & aprons were joined with dominoes (loose mortise & tenon). The oak coved handles were also custom made.

This is the full build of my custom router table for my workshop. The table is 4’ x 2’, made from 3/4” plywood carcass, 2 3/4” MDF sheets laminated together, with oak trim, drawers & doors. Everything got an orange accent to add some colour to the workshop & match the router fence, plate & track

The hardware came from Axminster Tools

Plans for this build coming soon!

This is the full build of my outfeed/assembly table for my workshop. It's 6' x 4', has 4 cupboards, each with 2 sliding trays for tool/materials storage, 5 drawers & two clean sides to place key items such as measuring tools, small clamps & tape.

The doors are frame & panel with oak stiles & rails, the drawer fronts & trim are all oak. The doors have metal hardware but the drawers have bespoke designed oak handles

Workshop Projects

mitre saw station

This was the 1st significant shop furniture build in the new workshop & it's been a hugely important project - storage & a lengthy area for cross cutting are a must have...t-track & stop blocks integrated into the unit

JAPANESE TOOLBOX SHARPENING STATION

My traditional style Japanese toolbox sharpening station has been a feature for a while in the workshop. Made from offcuts of Oak & Sapele, the lid slides open after removing the locking wedge, revealing all my equipment for sharpening

DRILL CHARGING STATION

This is my drill, impact driver & general power tool charging station, with oak trim & small oak fronted drawers for drill bit or router bit storage. Chargers are on a sloped shelf with front lip & cleat to hold them in place

WORKSHOP STOOL

Made from off-cuts from furniture projects I experimented with shaping the stool seat using the table saw & power craving attachment on my angle grinder - also a fun design style with the tripod legs!

Drill bit cabinet

The cabinet is all oak with an MDF back panel with an orange accent to match my custom router table, keeping the colour theme going into the workshop. Glass panel is arcylic which is more robust in the workshop

CHAINSAW ACCESSORIES TOOLBOX

Traditional toolbox/caddy for all my chainsaw essentials like fuel, 2-stroke & chain oil, plus the key tools for changing chains & on the go maintenance - made from an old pallet!

Furniture Projects

mirrored glass coffee table

I was commissioned to build this mirrored glass 1400mm x 1400mm coffee table by a client who was moving to a brand new house. The main body was covered in mirrored glass on top & sides (300mm), attached to a 1000mm x 1000mm x 100mm base

OUTDOOR ASH BENCH

I have a porch area on my workshop for drying timber & firewood, but its also a great spot for the bench I made for a tea break. I felled the Ash last year & integrated steel rod into the stretcher as a design feature

LIVE EDGE COFFEE TABLE

This is a London Plane live edge slab coffee table that I recently made for a client commission. The client wanted as matt a finish as possible, so it's finished with raw linseed oil (4 coats) & clear beeswax (2 coats).
