Double Alcoves with painted Shaker style doors, with brushed nickel door pulls - soft close Blum hinges & oak internal cabinetry. Alcove width 3m+, the left side wider so design incorportaes an Oak Wine Rack. Both sides have open Oak Log Stores either side of the woodstove hearth. Countertops are live edge solid oak, with substantial bookcases with offset shelving heights for different uses & book sizes

Design also includes six live edge solid oak Floating Shelves between bookcases & woodstove hearth, with offset design layout

Solid Walnut TV & Media Cabinet, with continuous grain across the doors - made in a similar style to a taller unit designed in 2019 from Indian Rosewood veneer, which was called “The Wilding”. The timber for the doors was selected & joined to create a “wild” landscape, with the sapwood as the sky. The bespoke handles are fully mitred on the outside edges, and the timber was oriented to blend into the door - the cabinetry is a mitred waterfall, showing further continous grain flow

Built-in, walk-in Wardrobe with continuous grain drawer fronts, integrated pulls, soft close Blum undermount slides - full wraparound hanging area, with long hanging in the corner to maximise space - black steel hanging rails & upper shelving for shoes & boots - this is a classic look, but with modern design features

The Garver design was developed as part of a larger bedroom project earlier in 2021 - Vintage Oak with Black Steel base & drawer pulls - this client wanted the same aesthetic, but we designed a darker tone, utilised curved bar handles & the drawer faces protruded from the face frame with a subtle chamfer to meet the frame - soft close undermount Blum slides for double drawers & open cubby shelf

Finished with Fiddes Dark Oak Dye & Shellac for a more satin look

One of the final pieces of a long term project with this client in their gorgueos new house in Abergele - key piece for a clean, modern hallway - Spalted Beech wraparound console with painted Baltic Birch doors, with a chamfer detail to reveal exposed plywood edges - internal cabinetry Baltic Birch with central shelf across three compartments - doors are push-to-open, with soft close Blum hinges & hardware

Spalting is a fungal disease in the timber, which creates these amazing black streaks, making the look unique & striking - the front egdes were power carved to give a live edge feel

During the Abergele Project, the client’s ask me to restore two large Chest of Drawer units which had been stored in a garage - they had significant water damage & the mitred joinery on the 3” live edge slabs had split - the pieces also needed to be moved to an Office & Main Bedroom, requiring the drawer units to be taken down & re-assembled

Live Edge Olive Ash Dining Table, with Black Steel powder coated X legs - this top, measuring 8’ x 4’ was made from two sequential slabs sourced from a local sawmill in North Wales - the slabs were reverse bookmatched (corner to corner mirror)

Cracks were filled with black epoxy resin to stabalise & add more character to the top

The client loved two different styles of antique bookcases, both made by Heals in the 1930s - we combined the shelving & countertop design from one piece with the cupboards of the other piece to create this unique antique look

Client commissioned this piece after trying to get something similar with exotic Tasmanian Oak - the heavily spalted boards I had matching a Record Player Cabinet I had recently finished were the perfect substitute

With scrap pieces we managed to make a Bath Valet which was dubbed The Falcon

The Elm table top had originally been used in another piece as drawer fronts for a Record Player Cabinet, when the client changed their mind on the aesthetic - to do justice to the beauty of this slab I stitched it back together with blackened steel rod & paired with some solid Oak trapeziod legs, which were burnt using an ancient Japanese process to protect wood called Yakisugi - which is then oiled for protection

I named the table Aur Du (pronounced I-thee) which is Welsh for Black Gold, highlighting the key colour palette

The brief for this project was to cover a boiler & have a combination of storage & display shleving - we designed this “wing” of stacked shelvies & cupboards, integrated with an Oak Cantilevered Coffee Table - the large white cupboard houses the boiler, but the other cupboards are storage with Blum Push-to-open technology & soft close hinges - oak shelving with mitred joints - the finished project was artistic, but created a truly practical space for the clients

The client had installed their new kitchen, but needed a bespoke solution to a large fusebox unit, combined with some challenging angles from the roof in this traditional Welsh cottage - we designed a a double cupboard to match the kitchen units, with one angled door - made from solid oak but painted - below the cupboard we created a practical space - oak shelving for recipe books & plants - wine rack for those good bottles - the unit seamlessly integrates with the kitchen units

This large Oak beamed office needed a real statement desk for the client, so we designed a wraparound, mitered waterfall desk in Spalted Beech, with slimline white drawers - drawer boxes are oak, mounted on soft close undermount Blum slides & the desk includes integrated electrical supply through the right leg to create a seamless set up - first project of many at this amazing Abergele home

A superb commission delivered to start 2021 - the client had been looking for a 1930s Vintage Oak Desk from the British Air Ministry during the World War II - instead of continuing to find an antique version they commissioned this piece & we gave it a Mid Century modern twist that the client loved - continuous grain matching across the desk front & drawers, with bespoke drawer pulls - tapered legs with the desktop getting a subtle roundover for comfort & style
